In the Washington Post an article had been published about a group of science teachers of Maryland, in January. This article stated that these science teachers are getting knowledge to reproduce their DNA. The DNA Resource center of their school system has originated 9 labs to instruct the biotechnology concepts. This DNA Resource center is financed by Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Part time staff is hired to manage and maintain the labs. The staff teaches the science teachers how to utilities lab actions and equipments in class rooms.
70 teachers have been trained by the center and also 13,000 lab kits have been supplied, last year. About $280,000 have anticipated to this center by School management, last year. This year the system expands to the middle schools, therefore the budget will rise to $350,000.
