On Wednesday, a survey has been issued that Asian countries are lagging behind to give sufficient care for dying in spite of good developing living standards.
The Economist Intelligence Unit said, to meet the “end of life care” needs, the suppliers and federal government is speeding against time.
A Singapore Philanthropic Administration, Lein Foundation has surveyed that in “quality of death” scale Japan, an economic power house, is at 23rd position from 40 countries ranked through out the world.
India is at bottom and got the worst position. South Korea, China and Malaysia are also at the bottom position of the worldwide “quality of death” rank. South Africa, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil, Uganda, Russia and Portugal have also got bad and poor positions.
For the “end of life care” Britain is at the top with Australia and New Zealand. Ireland, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Canada and U.S are also at the top 10 positions in global list. Taiwan and Singapore got 14th and 18th positions respectively.
According to the survey, “quality of death” is a different issue than the “quality of life” which is a common matter. Many rich and others nations, which are very advanced in healthcare system but Palliative care is not included into their healthcare strategy.
